Abstract

Improper binarization, inadequacies in printing, orthography of the script, font types, and low scanning resolution are some of the factors which contribute to the touching characters in OCR system. In this paper touching characters of Telugu script are classified based on the location of touching and two algorithms for segmentation of touching characters in top zone and middle zone are proposed. This makes it easier to segment them with appropriate strategies for each class. Characteristics of projection profiles and side profiles are used to identify and segment the touching characters. The success rates of 92.67% and 91.28% are achieved for segmenting the touching characters in top zone and middle zone respectively.

Abstract

Objectives: Stealthy attacks are a kind of attacks which injects route fabrication information and producing false identification in network. In this paper, we evaluate these two stealthy attacks against a privacy mechanism as Distinct Authentication Key Approach (DAKA) in MANET. Methods/Statistical Analysis: Wireless networks are becoming the most popular in today communication systems, where users prefer to have wireless connectivity regardless of its geographic location. However, the openness of wireless communications increases the threat to MANET under its conditions. It is very challenging to validate false identify in a stealthy node behaviour as it gives a normal impression and in case of route fabrication they modify the routing path which leads a high number of packet loss. The DAKA provides a Secure Route Discovery Mechanism and data routing through a privacy and certificate authentication methodology. Findings: We evaluate the proposed approach by measuring Packet Delivery Ratio, Avg. End-to-End Delay, Control Overhead and Packet Drop Ratio with varying the number of malicious nodes in a fixed number of nodes and traffic. Application/ Improvements: The simulation experiment result shows successfully alleviation of the malicious nodes and achieves the needed performance.

Abstract

Effective data management and resource management are vital to the success of emerging mobile data applications. the allocation of resources such as Bandwidth, buffer in mobile cellular networks becomes an increasingly important issue. In addition, varying mobility and various service class requirements of the present multimedia applications makes it a challenging one. It is mostly realized in the present Third generation (3G) and beyond 3G (B3G) mobile network system. Hence an effective and efficient utilization of resources such as bandwidth in mobile cellular system using better optimization schemes are needed. This paper investigates the problem of bandwidth allocation for data dissemination in a multicell environment. The performance objective is to minimize the overall expected access latency also addresses the critical issues of resource allocation-in particular about optimization of bandwidth with adaptive Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. In order to have optimized bandwidth applications, optimization schemes-Linear Programming (LP). LP methods solve optimization problem having linear objective function and constraints.
